My Audio Recording Studio
My home audio recording setup is inexpensive, small, and pretty easy to use. It's a great tool for song and tune writing, editing field recordings, and multi-track recording. I used it on several tracks of my CD, "She's So Hot!".
The digital parts of my audio recording studio consist of a home-built WinXP desktop computer running Adobe Audition 3.0, and an Alesis MultiMix 8 FireWire Digital Audio Workstation. I can record up to six simultaneous tracks with this setup.
This computer also runs PG Music's Band-in-a-Box, Finale's Guitar, and various other music software applications. It manages my MP3 archives, too. It's dedicated to music.
For the analog parts of my studio, I use an Audio Technica AT4033 large diaphragm condenser mike, a couple of AKG C1000S small diaphragm condenser mikes, and some dynamic mikes, if needed. I also have a Thorens TD 165 turntable, a Yamaha cassette player, and a Folio Notepad mixer for additional input sources. I have a pair of Carvin SRS studio monitors and AKG K-301 headphones for playback.
This studio is simple but versatile.
